Unless you are already using another trusted TOTP app and know how to use it, download Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator1 from a trusted site (e.g using the links below) and install on your phone.
Do not install the app on the same device that you use to login to the cluster2. This helps make your account more secure.
If you use multiple phones (or simply want a backup copy of your code generator), feel free to install the app on both. When you enable 2FA, scan the same QR code from both phones.
This app is available for both Android and iOS devices.
Download Google Authenticator for Android from Play Store
Download Google Authenticator for iOS from App Store
If you already use Office 365 two-factor authentication, you may already have this app on your phone. It can also be used for NSC cluster two-factor authentication. It is available for both Android and iOS.
Download Microsoft Authenticator for Android from Play Store
Download Microsoft Authenticator for iOS from App Store
NSC recommends using one of these apps, but it should be possible to use any app that implements the TOTP (RFC 6238) standard ↩
E.g if you use an iPad to log in to the cluster, install the TOTP app on your phone instead. ↩
