Visual Studio Code on Tetralith & Sigma

Visual Studio Code (VS Code) is a highly popular, free, open-source code editor developed by Microsoft. It’s known for its performance, extensibility, and support for a wide range of programming languages.

Obtaining Visual Studio Code

First, you need to download Visual Studio Code. It is freely available and can be downloaded from the official download page.

Note that VS Code is provided by Microsoft and not NSC. You need to install it in your own account on Tetralith and Sigma.

Installation in Your Own Account on Tetralith & Sigma

To use VS Code on Tetralith and Sigma, follow these general steps:

  1. Visit the Visual Studio Code Download Page and download the appropriate version for Linux. This may be a tar.gz or other file format depending on your needs.

  2. After downloading, unpack the file using the terminal. For a tar.gz file, use:

     tar xf <downloaded-file>.tar.gz
    
  3. Navigate to the extracted folder. The folder name might differ based on the downloaded version. For example:

     cd VSCode-linux-x64
    
  4. Start Visual Studio Code with the command:

     ./code --no-sandbox
    

This should enable you to use VS Code on Tetralith/Sigma.
