On October 29th, NSC opened up our new Centre Storage system to users.
The new system will replace both the existing Centre Storage system (approx. 400 TiB, installed 2007 and 2010) and the Vagn storage system (approx. 500 TiB, installed 2008-2010).
Centre Storage is a high-performance storage system for short-to-medium-term (up to a year) storage. If is used by the 900 active users of our academic systems Triolith, Kappa and Matter.
The total available disk space in the new system is approximately 2800 TiB.
The aggregated performance of the new system is up to 45 GiB/s (10x the performance of the previous system).
